This is the mighty Mauler, the second enemy I worked on for Soulstice, the videogame from Reply Games Studios, where I worked as a Gameplay Animator.
I've always been proud of how it turned out and the work I've done for him. It was the first time I approached making animations in which I had to communicate so much might, strength, and awe. It was a lot of fun making his animations and bringing him to life. Here you can appreciate just some of the ones I made. Here, too, the creative process does not differ too much from those I have adopted. I always start by finding the most suitable ideas through sketches, thumbnails and video references both online and made by me, after which I moved on to the creation of animations from blocking to polishing within Maya. Here, too, there have been numerous imports and integration to Unreal to test the animations and their effectiveness.
